Xerox and Software 2000
Announce Print Driver Collaboration
OXFORD — August 27, 1999 — Xerox Corporation and Software
2000 announced today that the two companies have signed an agreement
covering the use of SW2000 printer driver technologies by Xerox.
Under the terms of this agreement Xerox has expanded its relationship
with SW2000 and will ship SW2000's printer drivers across a broad
range of ink jet and laser-based printer, MFP and digital copier
products.
Among the Xerox products that will ship with SW 2000 drivers are
selected DocuPrint N Series, Document Centre, and WorkCentre products
and future products.
For the past three years Xerox has been using SW2000's driver development
toolkits to develop PCL 5e, PCL 5c and PostScript drivers for both
the Windows and Windows NT platforms, as well as PrintMagic for its
color ink jet products on the Windows platform. The new agreement
extends the use of SW2000 products by Xerox to include PCL XL on
both platforms and PrintMagic for Windows NT.
"As a manufacturer of high quality, high performance products
Xerox always demands the same high quality and performance from its
supplier partners," said Robert Goren, vice president, Business
Development, Xerox Corp. "SW2000 has met these criteria and
their products give us a real edge in our very competitive market"
Nigel Hearne, President of Software 2000's US operation says "we
are extremely proud to have been chosen by Xerox as their key supplier
of driver technology. Our developer toolkits enabled Xerox engineers
to very quickly create high-speed, robust drivers that can really
differentiate their products in the market."
