Konica Select Software 2000
OXFORD — June 26, 2001 — Printer driver technology
specialist, Software 2000 has been chosen by Konica as the provider
for PostScript driver technologies on their range of digital copiers.
Under the terms of the strategic agreement Konica will use Software
2000's driver developer toolkits (DDKs)
to accelerate PostScript printer driver development and cut Konica's
time-to-market. Component Driver Architecture (CDA) is designed to
take a modular approach to driver development, allowing use of common
components across different drivers that provide Windows users with
comprehensive control over their print jobs.
Konica have chosen CDA PostScript for their IP 601, IP 421, IP
431 and IP 304 controllers, which support their latest range of Digital
Copiers. The IP 421 models also support PC-Fax features from within
the Windows drivers.
Masatoshi Matsuzaki, General Manager of Konica System Technology
Division stated, "We are pleased to have entered into partnership
with Software 2000. CDA provides us with the flexibility to easily
provide highly customized and localized drivers for our latest Printer
Controllers."
Ian Ashmore, Business Manager for Software 2000 commented, "We
are pleased that Konica have seen the business advantages in Component
Driver Architecture. The ability to support highly specified Digital
Copiers like the 7075 with easy-to-use Windows drivers makes the
Konica copiers extremely attractive to Konica's customers"
