Ricoh sign new strategic technology agreement

OXFORD — February 11, 2002 — Ricoh and Software 2000 today announced that they have entered into a new Strategic Technology agreement covering the next three years.

Under the agreement Ricoh will use Software 2000's advanced driver development kits (DDKs) to create high performance custom PCL5e, 5c and XL printer drivers for their world class range of printers and MFPs, including the hugely successful Aficio range and their new high performance colour devices.

The announcement marks the beginning of a new long-term strategic technology partnership between the two companies, which will ensure that Ricoh has unrestricted access to the very best printer driver technology available today.

After a detailed competitive analysis, Ricoh chose Software 2000's Component Driver Architecture (CDA) suite of driver development tools citing itsease of use, fast time to market delivery capabilities and inherent high performance and quality as key criteria for their decision..
