New Version of Sorcerer™ Driver
Development Kit Launched
OXFORD — March 12, 2003 — Software 2000 today announced
the availability of the next release of their multi-platform Sorcerer
Driver Development Toolkit. Building upon the success of the initial
release, Sorcerer 2.5 includes a number of additions to further enhance
the process of creating ultra high quality printer drivers for multiple
operating systems in the shortest possible time.
A key productivity addition has been made in the form of ‘Team
Design', an environment that facilitates multiple Engineers
working within a parallel design structure. The process controls
the entire driver development and can dramatically reduce the overall
time required to bring new products to market.
Support has also been extended for AutoEZ-Cal™, a Wizard
based automatic calibration system. Sorcerer 2.5 includes the ability
to calibrate extended ink-sets such as those used within the Hexachrome™ process.
This is particularly important to OEMs supporting the wide-format
markets where the use of Orange, Green, Red and Blue ink tanks are
typically employed. Calibrations for these devices may now be completed
within hours rather than days or weeks.
"It is vital that we make technology available ahead of market
demands in order to ease the pressures on OEMs looking to deliver
drivers of the highest possible quality to increasingly discerning
end-users.", said Tony Harris, Chief Technology Officer at
Software 2000. "The updates included within Sorcerer 2.5 are
based upon the feedback received from a range of research that we
regularly commission."
