Software 2000 Enables
InkSaver™ Technology For OEM Printer
Drivers
OXFORD — March 12, 2003 — In a further response to the
growing sensitivity of consumers to the high cost of inkjet printing,
Software 2000 today announced that (with the launch of version 1.2),
InkSaver technology is now available to OEMs. InkSaver is a revolutionary
software product that allows end-users to control the amount of ink
used by their ink jet printers, thereby reducing printing costs.
Unlike draft mode, InkSaver maintains print quality while doing this.
"More and more, consumers are searching for alternatives
that reduce inkjet printing costs, while maintaining the high print
quality that is a requirement in today's market," said
Tony Harris, Software 2000 Chief Technology Officer. "Without
InkSaver, the customer's options are limited and often recourse
to the aftermarket is the end-user's ultimate choice. InkSaver
provides OEMs the ability to retain their customers by satisfying
demand for lower cost printing, maintaining their consumable market
share and ensuring brand loyalty."
Research by Software 2000 has found that:
- More than 80% of consumers
think that inkjet printing is too expensive; Printer Driver.
- 44% of ink jet customers
have tried 3rd party ink cartridges & refill
kits to reduce cost Printer Driver.
- 63% of InkSaver users print more than
they had before purchasing InkSaver.
InkSaver removes consumer sensitivity to the cost of printing and
allows them to feel more in control of their printing costs. It is
the only solution that allows consumers to manage their printing
costs while using their printer manufacturer's recommended
ink cartridges. The software utilizes sophisticated patent pending
algorithms to extend cartridge life while minimally impacting print
quality.
