Software 2000 Group Creates a Japanese K.K. - Underlines Commitment
to Far Eastern Markets
OXFORD — March 19, 2003 — Software 2000, the world's
largest independent developer of print imaging and driver solutions,
today announced the formation of Software 2000 International Kabushiki
Kaisha (KK) based in Tokyo. As well as strengthening the company's
Japanese presence, this initiative will boost development of business
in Taiwan, China and South Korea.
The incorporation of the new company marks a further step in Software
2000's expansion plans for the Far East – a commitment
made by Chief Executive Officer Peter Lismer at the beginning of
the year. Currently, the Far East Region represents approximately
50% of Software 2000's worldwide business. The new Japanese KK will
enable the group to increase this contribution through the development
of business with new Japanese customers as well as with Chinese,
Korean and Taiwanese companies. Software 2000's new and existing
Far Eastern customers will also benefit from the increased focus
on local customer service and support.
"Three years ago we showed our commitment to this region
by opening our representative office in Japan," said Peter Lismer,
Chief Executive Officer. "Today, with the formation of the K.K.
we have reached another milestone in Software 2000's growth
- the creation of a permanent local organisation with direct resources
to support our customers and to meet the increased demand for our
products."
