Software 2000 Extends Market Lead in Wide Format
OXFORD — September 1, 2003 — Software 2000 announced
today that it has significantly increased its penetration into the
wide format printing market by adding to its established base of
partnerships with industry leaders. Joining a number of key OEMs
including Océ, Harlequin and Xaar, Roland is the latest OEM
to take advantage of the Sorcerer multi-platform Driver Development
Kit (DDK). Roland will develop custom printer drivers for Windows
and Macintosh platforms for a range of new wide format printers.
Software 2000's established presence in the wide format market
is due to quality customer support and cutting edge technology.
Specific wide format enhancements have been added to the latest
editions of the Sorcerer toolkits, including:
- Support for increased
resolution over large print areas
- N-color calibration support,
such as Photo-Ink Hexachrome® (CMYKOG) and Pentachrome™ color
support for wide format devices
- Macintosh OS X support within the
Sorcerer environment
- Optimized performance for large print jobs
of multiple Gigabytes
- "Media Saving" options (multi-up,
nesting)
- Industry leading halftoning performance
- Ability to monitor media
and ink resources
