InkSaver™ 2.0 Software Provides an Updated Solution
to Combat the High Cost of Ink
Strydent Software launches InkSaver 2.0, a simple way to save money
on ink while maintaining high print quality across all inkjet printer
brands.
VANCOUVER, BC — October 28, 2003 — Strydent Software Inc. announced
today the launch of InkSaver 2.0, an updated version of their award-winning
software designed to help consumers save money on ink.
"When BBC News revealed that ink can cost over seven times
the amount of vintage champagne, we knew that consumers needed an
alternate solution," said Bill Neill, Product Manager with Strydent
Software. "We have solved this problem in an innovative and
affordable way, putting the power back into the hands of our customers."
The key benefit of InkSaver 2.0 is its ability to significantly
reduce the cost of ink across all printer brands, while maintaining
quality. However, while available in select stores in Canada and
throughout the rest of the world, cost-conscious families in the
US are not likely to locate the product at their local stores.
"A lot of corporations are making a great deal of money on
the sale of ink. For obvious reasons, vendors and suppliers are not
as interested in helping consumers reduce the amount of money spent
on ink," explained Mr. Neill. "By using InkSaver 2.0, a
typical family will save hundreds of dollars a year on ink cartridges.
For this reason, many US retailers would prefer to keep this product
off their shelves."
According to industry reports, many vendors and suppliers are profiting
substantially from the high cost of ink, which is not likely to decrease
in the foreseeable future. CAP Ventures reveals that, since 1996,
the average price per printed page has risen by 12.5 per cent. Over
the course of one year, Bear and Sterns reports that Epson and HP
earn a 60 percent gross profit on ink jet and toner cartridges. Furthermore,
Lyra Research Inc. reports that, by 2005, sales of ink cartridges
and refill kits are expected to reach over $22 billion, doubling
their sales in only four years.
To provide consumers with a simple solution to combat the exorbitant
cost of ink, InkSaver 2.0 uses patent pending software algorithms
to optimize printer data to reduce the amount of ink used. Key features
of InkSaver 2.0 include:
- Works with all inkjet printer brands (New!)
- Works with any brand
of ink cartridge or refill kit
- Offers improved print quality on
reduced ink settings (New!)
- Offers a simplified user experience,
with a simple slider to control ink saving levels (New!)
