Software Imaging Strengthens Embedded Systems Offering
OXFORD – 22 April, 2005 - Software Imaging announces a move
that sees a significant strengthening of its offering within the
embedded systems field. The formation of a new Embedded Systems business
unit has been achieved through an acquisition of the staff, intellectual
property, patents, technology and ongoing business of Colorgraph
(UK) Limited.
Colorgraph, founded in 1994, established itself as a leading provider
of software and hardware embedded imaging systems for digital photography
and document related products, including printers and standalone
devices. Recent success has seen the creation of an imaging system
used in a Riso Hagaki photo printer and they have also completed
projects with a number of OEMs including Epson, Minolta, Canon and
Lexmark.
As the market leader in printer driver technologies, consumables
applications and professional services, Software Imaging sees this
move as a significant strengthening of its offering within the embedded
systems field. Merging the embedded expertise and technology developed
by Colorgraph with the proven solutions of Software Imaging is a
natural progression from both a technological and a commercial perspective.
David Yeomans, formerly CEO of Colorgraph, joins Software Imaging
as Business Manager of the new Embedded Systems unit and brings a
vast amount of experience within the hardware and embedded fields.
He comments; “Colorgraph is in complete alignment with Software
Imaging’s technology vision. The new collaboration between
the two companies will enable us to offer embedded solutions to the
International markets that Software Imaging has already developed.”
Software Imaging is continuing to build a strong presence within
embedded systems; a move that will allow it to provide scalable advanced
print solutions to anyone who has printing requirements; host based
or embedded. Peter Lismer, CEO of Software Imaging added: “We
have identified core business units where we have expertise and the
addition of Colorgraph’s intellectual property and experience
further enhances the portfolio of products and services that we can
offer. We are encouraged by the very positive response that we have
received from the marketplace and this acquisition enables us to
offer a complete solution to our customers.”
Software Imaging will be showcasing a demonstration of the embedded
solution and Software Imaging’s future in the embedded market,
at WinHEC, Seattle, WA between 25th and 28th April.
