Software Imaging Revolutionizes Enterprise Printer Driver Management
Software Imaging's New ManageRight™ Solution Offers
a Cost-effective Means of Providing Customizable Printer Drivers
to Enterprise Customers.
Software Imaging announced today the release of ManageRight™,
a print driver solution that allows device manufacturers to deliver
user-level customization of printing functions - a capability demanded by today's Enterprise
IT departments. The solution has the benefit of reducing costs to both printer manufacturers and their
enterprise customers.
Through the addition of advanced features, devices such as Digital
Copiers and MFPs have become more and more complex, which in turn has resulted in drivers becoming
more challenging to use. The only way of simplifying this has been to build different drivers
for different users - an option considered too expensive to be practical by most device manufacturers.
Building on Software Imaging's 17 years of experience developing
custom drivers, ManageRight makes it possible to develop a single fully-customizable driver
that allows features and functions to be deployed on a case-by-case basis. Instead of the device manufacturer
having to develop costly customer-specific driver variants, their enterprise customer
can now do the work themselves - simplifying the driver for most users and only employing
advanced features for those who need them. Enterprise customers can even reduce costs by restricting
access to color printing and other expensive features at the user- or group-level. Drivers that are
easier to use result in fewer IT support calls as well, lowering printing-related costs further.
"Effective print management is a growing need for cost-conscious
organizations," explains Jon Williams, Group Product Manager
for Software Imaging, "Printer manufacturers are frequently
approached by enterprise customers with requests for drivers that
are matched to their individual end-user's requirements, but it hasn't
been cost-effective for them to offer this - until now".
"Consider the case of a company that wants to restrict
their warehouse from printing in color, eliminate unnecessary driver
options for Accounting, while ensuring that their Marketing team
has access to all of the specialized driver features they need," Jon
continues, "Instead of three separate drivers,
this sophisticated configuration can be achieved with just one ManageRight
driver - eliminating costly development effort by the device manufacturer."
Kevin Jampole, Group Sales Director summarized "ManageRight
allows printer manufacturers to add significant value to their offerings
- value that translates directly into reduced headaches and lower
support costs for their customers. This improves a manufacturers'
competitiveness in the space and ensures that end users get the best
possible experience when using their devices."
ManageRight supports all major enterprise server and client operating
systems. It is available immediately and can easily be integrated
into both new and existing driver solutions. ManageRight can be deployed
through Software Imaging's CDA driver
development toolkit and can also be integrated with a manufacturers'
own driver technologies and management applications.
