Software Imaging Delivers Technology to
Secure Point-of-Sale Lottery Ticket Printing
Software Imaging Technology Used to Secure Camelot's
National Lottery Fast Pay™ System
Oxford, United Kingdom -
March 20, 2007 - Software Imaging's secure printing technology and
expertise is being used by Camelot, the UK National
Lottery operator, in their National Lottery Fast Pay system. Camelot's
system uses Software Imaging's advanced technology to provide secure
printing of lottery tickets from supermarket checkouts.
Software Imaging has been involved in the secure printing arena
for many years in areas such as banknotes, passports, stock certificates,
postage stamps and identity cards. Camelot's Fast Pay system
is an innovative technology that builds on Software Imaging's
experience and further strengthens their reputation for providing
customers with the necessary expertise to manage all of their print
security concerns.
Fast Pay is currently deployed in over 1,000 Tesco supermarkets
in the UK. It provides an innovative means to print lottery tickets
directly from supermarket checkouts without compromising the security
of National Lottery draw-based games. Camelot chose Software Imaging
to provide the technology required to enable secure printing of tickets
on standard electronic point of sale devices, eliminating the need
to use custom-made paper and dedicated devices for security.
"When looking for a solution that we could
be confident would provide the best print security for National
Lottery Fast Pay, we knew that we had to find a partner with proven
expertise and solid understanding of secure printing technologies
and methodologies," says Gary Spanswick, Head of Architecture at Camelot. "Thankfully,
we found Software Imaging. Their knowledge of secure printing, their
reliability and reputation as a partner and their ability to deliver
a quality, robust solution made them the perfect choice for this
project."
"Security is a high profile and important consideration
for companies that wish to protect themselves from real threats
to their technology-based business transactions," says Tony Harris,
Technical Director for Software Imaging. "Camelot’s
decision to use Software Imaging technology in their Fast Pay system
to secure critical lottery transactions is testament to the robustness
of our solutions."
