PrintMagicXPS 1.1 Makes Printing Quality XPS
Documents Even Quicker
Users of Software Imaging's latest release of PrintMagicXPS benefit
from enhanced performance and output quality
Oxford, United Kingdom – April 19, 2007 – Software Imaging has announced that it is now shipping
the latest release of its leading XPS raster image processor (RIP), PrintMagicXPS, to software
developers and printer OEMs worldwide. PrintMagicXPS provides a level of accuracy and fidelity
not supported by other solutions and is made available in a software development kit (SDK) which
enables fast XPSDrv print driver creation for Windows Vista.
This new release, PrintMagicXPS 1.1, further enhances both quality and performance when printing
XPS documents and does so with minimal resources. This makes it ideal for both XPS workflow
applications and printing applications such as Microsoft Vista premium-signed XPSDrv drivers and
standalone host-based XPS RIP solutions.
New features in version 1.1 include:
- Advanced optimizations to provide even greater performance
- A further reduction in system memory requirements
- Enhanced anti-aliasing to allow even better quality
- The ability to accurately render a wider range of XPS documents than alternative solutions
The new optimizations built into PrintMagicXPS 1.1 are designed to provide further improvements
in system performance, even when rendering particularly large and complex XPS documents. For
example, PrintMagicXPS allows documents that are generated by the Microsoft Document Writer to
be printed even in cases where those documents are too large or complex for the Microsoft Vista
viewer to display or print.
Quality and performance are further enhanced through advanced anti-aliasing algorithms, while
the reduced memory requirements provide even greater system performance, allowing for a better
overall end-user experience.
For PrintMagicXPS users there is no need to compromise speed for quality.
"PrintMagicXPS has already proven itself to be a world-beating, high performance RIP and I believe
that it will remain the fastest RIP on the market for the foreseeable future," Jon Williams, Group
Product Manager for Software Imaging. "This new release allows our OEM customers to truly set the
standard for quality and performance in their Vista-based products, be they premium-signed printer
drivers, host-based RIPs, or print workflow applications."
PrintMagicXPS features include:
Full support for…
- Microsoft's XPS 1.0 specification
- Color matching on Windows Vista
- Wide gamut color spaces, including scRGB HDR
- Wide gamut output color spaces
- Third-party Color Matching Modules (CMMs)
- Down-level color matching for Windows XP and Windows 2000
Rendering to…
- Any required output resolution (600dpi, 720dpi, 1200dpi, etc.)
- Non-square resolutions (720x1440dpi, 600x400dpi, etc.)
- 8- or 16-bit/channel color depths for maximum accuracy
- Any required number of bands
PrintMagicXPS is delivered in a powerful Software Development Kit (SDK) that makes it easy to
integrate the PrintMagicXPS RIP quickly into solutions. The PrintMagicXPS SDK includes sample
solutions with source code that demonstrates how easy it is to integrate PrintMagicXPS into software
projects. These samples show working examples of PrintMagicXPS's support for hi-fidelity
16-bit rendering.
