PrintMagicXPS 2.0 Brings XPS Rendering to New Levels of Performance
The latest release of Software Imaging’s XPS rendering solution lets end-users take full advantage of today’s most powerful computers.
Oxford, United Kingdom – February 6th, 2008 – Software Imaging has announced a major update to its leading XPS raster image processor (RIP), PrintMagicXPS. This new release allows XPS-based software solutions to automatically scale performance to take full advantage of the features of today’s most powerful processors, including Intel Hyper-Threading, and Intel/AMD multi-core processing.
PrintMagicXPS 2.0 is ideal for both XPS workflow applications and printing applications such as high performance, Microsoft Vista premium-signed XPSDrv drivers and standalone high performance XPS RIP solutions. It is also an excellent choice for supplementing existing PostScript or PDF RIPs, bringing extremely high accuracy and performance XPS support.
PrintMagicXPS is delivered as a Software Development Kit (SDK) which is available immediately to software developers and printer OEMs worldwide.
New features in version 2.0 of PrintMagicXPS include an enhanced software interface to simplify use with multi-core processors and advanced optimizations which extend its already class-leading performance, particularly with extremely complex documents. For PrintMagicXPS users there is no need to compromise speed to achieve quality. PrintMagicXPS 2.0 provides direct performance benefits to end-users while using minimal client resources.
“The latest enhancements to PrintMagicXPS allow true performance scaling. End-users can now actually benefit from their investment in high performance hardware, while printer OEMs benefit from the improved ‘user experience’ that faster performance brings,” commented Jon Williams, Group Product Manager for Software Imaging.
“XPSDrv drivers generated by our new Sorcerer and CDA driver development platforms will automatically gain these advantages, as will printer suppliers already using PrintMagicXPS,” Jon adds, “These new capabilities also make PrintMagicXPS an extremely attractive, high performance XPS solution for PostScript/PDF RIP vendors.”
PrintMagicXPS features include:
Full support for…
- Microsoft’s XPS 1.0 specification
- Wide gamut color spaces, including scRGB HDR
- Wide gamut output color spaces
- Third-party Color Matching Modules (CMMs)
- Down-level color matching for Windows XP
- Multi-Core and Intel Hyper-Threading implementations for greater performance
Rendering to…
- Any required output resolution (600dpi, 720dpi, 1200dpi, etc.)
- Non-square resolutions (720x1440dpi, 600x400dpi, etc.)
- 8- or 16-bit/channel color depths for maximum accuracy
- Any required number of bands
PrintMagicXPS 2.0 is delivered in a powerful Software Development Kit (SDK) that makes it easy to integrate the PrintMagicXPS RIP quickly into solutions. The PrintMagicXPS SDK includes sample solutions with source code that demonstrates how easy it is to integrate PrintMagicXPS into software projects. These samples show working examples of PrintMagicXPS’s support for hi-fidelity 16-bit rendering.
PrintMagicXPS 2.0 continues to provide a level of accuracy and fidelity not supported by other solutions and enables fast XPSDrv print driver creation for Windows Vista.
