CDA More Details
Optimizing Performance
The CDA suite of powerful printer driver development toolkits is designed to produce the highest performance drivers for a wide range of devices - from the low end models to high speed print engines such as digital copiers and short run print printing solutions. The toolkit optimizes the driver for each device to maximize quality and throughput.
Per-user Management of Features
ManageRight allows individual driver features
to be customized on a per-user basis. For example, a color
device can appear as a monochrome device to all
users except those who are granted color privileges by an IT
manager. Likewise features such as job finishing options, access
to job storage, overlay management and watermarks can also
be managed in a similar manner. [see
ManageRight]
Secure Printing
PrintSec secure printing enables end-to-end
printing security directly from the users' PC to
the print device (example devices include networked digital
copiers, MFPs
and lasers). The technology incorporates a secure software
port on the client that encrypts the job over the local area
network or internet to the device. PrintSec is straightforward
to implement in printing devices. PrintSec technology is
also licensed separately for use with printer manufacturers'
custom drivers. It is based on public/private key encryption
standards. [see PrintSec]
Job Ticketing
MetaDocs ensure the additional support of industry standard ticketing is easy to implement. Support of semantic models, JDF and other XML or proprietary ticketing methods are also easy to implement.
Job Finishing
CDA contains modules to support a wide variety
of "job finishing" capabilities such as booklet printing,
posters, scaling, collation and manual duplex. The driver can
be tailored to allow the user to get maximum value from the device.
[see Job Finishing]
PrintTicket/PrintCapabilities
CDA contains a module that enables Windows
Vista's new XML-based PrintTicket support. Applications can now
directly use these extended capabilities to directly control
driver functions when OEMs choose to implement this module.
Enterprise Roll-out
ShipRight ensures your sales channels can
tailor the driver defaults to their customer. Roll out of multicopier
instructions has never been easier. [see
ShipRight]
DeskSets Makes it Easier
DeskSets allow users to quickly change driver
settings on the desktop. No more difficulty changing printer
settings - the right settings are just a click away. Users can
also drag files, or groups of files, to a desktop icon for easy
printing. [see DeskSets]
Maximize Revenues with High Profile Branding
Opportunities
CDA gives OEMs complete control of the look and feel of the user interface. Using the DeskSets feature, the branding of your printer is extended onto the users desktop. The web-based interface allows complete flexibility for you to deliver your messages to your customer. This high profile branding can greatly increase user satisfaction with your printers whilst maintaining sales of your consumables.
