Print Direct
Direct Printing for Windows
Software Imaging modular driver toolkits
feature Direct Printing. This brings Macintosh-like functionality
to all versions of Windows including Windows XP, 2000 and
Windows Me. Users can simply drag-and-drop files to a desktop
icon representing their printer. The file is then printed in
the most appropriate manner as defined by their printer supplier.
Direct printing allows files that have
been "printed to file" to be easily reprinted on
the customers printer, and files such as Microsoft Word documents
to be printed by automatically invoking the application.
In addition, printers supporting special
file formats such as Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF)
can have the direct print utility pass through the PDF file
without invoking desktop applications such as Adobe Acrobat
Reader.

Optimum Use of Printer's Features
Users whose printers provide support for
printing formats such as PNG, JPEG, PDF etc.
can instantly benefit with faster printing. Files printed directly
can be passed through the driver without requiring host applications
to be invoked.
The desktop printer icon allows easy access
to the patented driver feature – web based browsability.
This allows the icon to access the Document Properties dialogues,
the DeskSets selections and built-in driver pages. It can even
link transparently to your web site to order new consumables.
Users can easily register their products, access web-based FAQ,
and order consumables such as inks, toner, and media all from
within the driver!
